Teams from Japan and the Philippines and players from across the states starred in a drama and highlight filled tournament.
It was a very emotional tournament in honor of Wendell Lee former VBL player who had just sign with NBA D League and lost his life to a reckless murder.
The competition began Friday night at legendary Angels Gate Park in San Pedro where team SpaceBall had friendly scrimmage game VS 2015 VBL Champs Hall of Fame.
The favorite teams to win it all were Team Hall of Fame and Brand Black All Stars but there was a change of plan after they both lost in the 2nd round of Playoffs!
They were both bragging that they wanted to play each other in the championship and that they were going to run through the competition but the was a sudden change of plan when they were both knocked out by HUB Junkies and a strong Pasadena Team.
With the sun setting at #hoopersparadise an anxious crowd watched some of the most drama filled streetball moments since Billy Doyle and Sidney Dean.
The Championship game featured Pro Shot West a young crew of D2 and Juco all star players led by Venice Beach Legend 53 year old Greg Tuchek!
On the other side HUB Bball Junkies with former NBA player Tony Farmer and MVP Grandpa Dew were just too much for the youngsters. Their experience and physicality got them the W and the ultimate street cred!
All the players left all they had on the floor, lots of them with bumps and bruises but more importantly unforgettable memories.
