The vibes in Venice were irresistible! Even the bees from Week 2 came back for more VWL action. The day was packed with great games, music, and free pizza being handed out to players and spectators throughout the day. Stick around for some recaps, for those who may have missed out on the fun.

Lady Sweat vs. GRG-OTF

In game #1, Lady Sweat prevailed over GRG-OTF with a final score of 49-38. The game was marked by intense defense, standout individual performances, and decisive runs that kept fans on the edge of their seats. Early in the game, Bailey  (10 pts, 4 reb, 1 ast, 2 blocks, 1 steal)  of GRG-OTF sparked a scoring run that showcased her offensive prowess. She hit key shots, attacked the rim with aggression, and helped GRG-OTF stay within striking distance of Lady Sweat. However, it was Lala (14 pts, 7 reb, 1 steal) who stole the show and earned the title of Player of the Game. Her impact was felt on both ends of the court, leading Lady Sweat with a stellar performance. Lady Sweat’s cohesive team effort and disciplined play allowed them to maintain control of the game, even when GRG-OTF mounted challenges. Lady Sweat has consistently played strong this season and are currently one of two teams standing undefeated.

WHN vs. Versatile

In a spectacular display of dominance, WHN cruised to a resounding 66-43 victory over their rivals, solidifying their place at the top of the leader standings with an impressive undefeated 4-0 record. Right from the opening tip, WHN showcased their offensive prowess, lighting it up from beyond the arc. Their shooters were on fire, sinking numerous three-pointers that quickly established a commanding lead. Ellis ( 10 pts, 12 reb, 1 ast), who was rightfully named Player of the Game, was a dominant force throughout the contest. Utilizing her size advantage, she controlled the boards with authority, pulling down crucial rebounds and converting second-chance points with ease. Defensively, WHN was relentless, applying constant pressure and forcing a multitude of turnovers. With their current form and team chemistry, WHN looks poised to continue their winning ways and remain at the top of the standings.

New Jersey Sets vs. Timeless

NJS came out strong, dominating the first half and building a solid lead. Amanda

( 19 pts, 1 reb, 1 steal) was on fire, cooking up a storm from beyond the arc and sinking multiple three-pointers that kept the scoreboard ticking for NJS. Her sharpshooting had Timeless scrambling to adjust their defense and stay in the game. In the third quarter, Timeless flipped the script. They opened the half with a blistering 9-0 run, taking control and snatching the lead from NJS. The defensive intensity from Timeless was relentless, and their offense started to click, with key contributions from multiple players. However, it was Christina ( 14 pts, 7 reb, 1 ast, 4 steals) who shone brightest, earning the Player of the Game honors. Her all-around performance was instrumental in securing the win for Timeless. Despite Amanda’s hot hand and NJS's strong start, they couldn't regain their first-half rhythm against the tenacious Timeless defense. Timeless celebrated a hard fought victory over NJS with a final score of 55-48.
