VWL '24 Week 3 Recap

Week 3 of VWL was one you didn’t want to miss! The sunny weather and cool ocean breeze set the perfect stage for a day of high-energy basketball and thrilling competition. 

Timeless vs. Lady Sweat 

In what can only be described as an epic battle, Team Timeless took on Team Lady Sweat in a match that went down to the wire. Both teams showcased their sharpshooting skills, draining impressive shots from behind the arc and trading buckets in an intense matchup. The game ended in a nail-biting game breaker period, with Team Lady Sweat narrowly edging out Team Timeless, 54-52. Lala (8 pts, 12 reb, 1 ast, 1 steal ) was the Player of the Game, delivering clutch plays that kept her team in contention and ultimately secured the victory. The intense back-and-forth action kept fans on the edge of their seats, making it a game to remember.

NJS vs. WHN 

New Jersey Sets took on WHN in a high-energy contest that saw WHN come out on top, maintaining their undefeated streak. The final score highlighted their dominance, as NJS secured a convincing victory. Despite the scoreline, New Jersey Sets put up a valiant effort. They showed flashes of brilliance, with players making impressive individual plays and fighting hard on both ends of the court. However, WHN’s cohesive play and strategic execution proved too much to handle.

GRG-OTF vs. Versatile 

In a showdown that had fans buzzing, GRG came out on top with a solid display of teamwork and individual brilliance, securing their first win of the season! From the opening tip, GRG showcased their remarkable team cohesion. Asia (22 pts, 2 reb, 1 ast )  was the star of the night for GRG, lighting up the scoreboard with a whopping 22 points. She was a scoring machine, hitting shots from all over the court and driving to the basket with authority. On the defensive end, Team Versatile put up a strong fight, especially player 24, Chelly ( 2 pts, 4 reb, 1 steal, 1 block). Chelly was a force to be reckoned with, showcasing her defensive skills with a highlight-reel block and effortless steal. However, GRG secured a well-deserved victory, showcasing their skills and teamwork.
