Veniceball’s final week of the regular season showcased the best of sunny LA’s hoop scene. The competition was fierce and the hunger for a crucial victory was in the air from the first tipoff. Clutch buckets, head-to-head battles and rim-rattling posters already plastered on players' IG feeds were on the menu as teams postered for playoff positioning. The weekend kicked off at Watt’s Oasis, famous as the backdrop for the 1992 hoop classic White Men Can’t Jump. Dominant performances by Los Fearless and SNS saw each team notch two crucial wins in their hunt for a ship. Day two returned the gang back home to Venice Beach, where Greenlights and SNS continued their winning streaks as the only undefeated teams on the day.

The second day found its stride in game three’s matchup between Team Dunk and Seek Discomfort. The spark ignited when Soufside Ty (Dunk) and Icebucket Nep (Discomfort) caught fire, trading three’s, isos and electrified the Venice boardwalk crowd in a season classic, which saw the Discomfort squad earn a W behind a day high 13 points from IceBucket. In perhaps the most impactful game of the weekend, team Ultra edged out a win against Timeless in a 16-15 thriller. Behind 10 combined points from HesiGod and Kwame, Ultra’s victory pushed them into the sixth seed guaranteeing the teams place in the quarterfinals. Baby Shaq and the Greenlights were finally able to put the pieces together earning crucial wins over BallisLife and edging Rokit in a 21-20 game at the wire. Additional standout performances include Soufside Ty’s 12 vs Greenlights, Suave’s 9 vs BallisLife, Hesigod’s 8 vs. Team SNS, and Rasheet Wilson’s 9 vs Greenlights in the last game of the weekend.

Going into the tournament, the top six teams, SNS, Timeless, Sunblock, Los Fearless, CGME and Ultra find themselves safe on Saturday, while the bottom 8 head to Skid Row in a battle for the last two spots. Sunday will showcase the best Veniceball has to offer in both atmosphere and competitive spirit in the best of 3 quarterfinals. Ultimately, only four can move on as each team pushes for the ultimate bragging rights, the title and crown as kings of LA streetball.
