The top 40 players in the West battled it out to earn a spot on the VBL World Champion team going to Shanghai on Aug15th to compete for $100,000 cash prize. #RoadtoChina
The day kicked off with some intense training hosted by Qimmah Russo and Lamere Cornelius. The contenders went through a series of high intensity strength and conditioning drills. Then we split the talent into 4 teams and started hooping..
The champions didn’t disappoint, winning 4 games straight. Our MVP’s Van Girard and King Hustle set the tone for the level of skills, focus, and physicality it takes to make our all-star team. Other standouts included Roderick Evans, New Williams, Vito Evans, Leon Gibson, Jarrell Tate and Jahmel.
Other highlights from the day included the return of VBL fan favorite Mani Love, some crazy dunks from Chris Staples and a 7-footer showdown between 7 foot 5 Mahmadou N’Diaye and 7 foot 3 Rasheed Byrd.
In 2017 the VBL family went undefeated 10-0 at the park and 12-0 defeating 20 Nations and earning the ultimate bragging rights.
On top of it Chris Staples earned another World Slam Dunk champion
