Veniceball invades the Fit Expo LA

For the first weekend of 2018 the VBL family brought the Venice Beach experience to Downtown LA for the Fit-Expo sponsored by our good friends at Bodybuilding.com.

In Build Courts not Walls fashion, we set up a half court in the Petree Concourse surrounded by a live DJs, live Art curated by Edrok of RisingSons Independent, accompanied by challenges and give a ways for the attendees of the expo.

Day one started with a bang as Qimmah Russo put the Venice Allstars through a push up/shooting workout to enhance control and range. Mouthpiece rose the competition by calling out people in the crowd for the 3 on 3 VBL challenge with a $100 in cash and some goodies on the line for the team that could dethrone the Venice Allstars comprising of Michael Purdy, Reemix, Chris Staples, Nick Ansom, Marcus Fuggins, Sheldon Bailey, and Rimrocka.

Day two started with Pro-Bowler Keith Mitchell as he led players, fans, and kids in a morning Yoga session to get limber and focused before a day of fitness. The 3 on 3 challenge continued with some returning players from day one, and attendees got the opportunity to win VBL Merch by hitting a shot from the #Buildcourtnotwalls line. Metta word Peace blessed the Veniceball x Fit Expo court with a midday defensive basketball workout ending with the “Can you score on Metta” challenge. The Illmatik Phlow Dance Crew straight out of Miami took to the court and displayed their breaking skills by doing “Air Flairs” on the VBL logo getting the crowd into a frenzy. The day culminated with a dunk contest with Latraius Mosley, Rimrocka, and Reemix who shut down the day with 360, and a through the legs dunk over a fitness model!!!

Over the weekend we gave away 50 basketballs, did 100 dunks, and witnessed 1000 smiles making the first basketball activation at the Fit Expo a historic success. As you know the game never stops, so stay tuned as we have some more high flying action planned for 2018!
