VBL is pleased to join efforts with HOOP foundation & LAPD for this Toy Drive Event
The event’s participants will be “lacing up their shoes” in a day consisting of basketball games,
entertainment, and family fun. The event features local middle school basketball teams shooting it
out for city bragging rights from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, immediately following the final youth game
a Charity Basketball Game featuring Team L. A. P. D. vs. Venice Beach Basketball League All-
Stars. This campaign features a simplistic and inexpensive fundraising and toy drive. In addition,
the event raises awareness of the need for assistance to the underserved families. This campaign
mirrors the purpose of the H.O.O.P. Foundation, Inc. in its efforts to provide mentorship and
support to the children of our community.
The Fundraiser
In an effort to keep things simple an inexpensive with respect to prospective donor we’ve
developed the “Shoes to Fill” campaign. Donors will be temporarily “filling in the shoes” for our
families. This event requests each participant and attendee to support by donating an unwrapped
toy, valued at $10.00 or donate a minimum of one U.S. dollar per their shoe size (ex. A person
wearing a size 7 shoe will donate seven dollars).
