Happy Go Hoop Day! Satuday was the first part of a 2 day VBL showcase at the courts!
We kicked things off VBL style of course starting with the future aka the kids VBL! Top local programs came to battle it out. Each team had their chance as they went head to head in a king of the court format. As the day aged so did our players as we transitioned from high school to JuCo.
Next up the stars took the floor in our celebrity game. Once again, Chris Staples stole the show with some unbelievable high flying acts. This one came down to wire not once, not twice, but three times in the triple overtime thriller we went to sudden death!
As the sun began to set Venice Basketball started to rise with the first of the 2 scheduled games of the day. Clutch Pandas facing off against Sunblock. The Pandas tried their best but where no match despite solid minutes from NBA champ Metta World Peace. The final score was 49-66 in favor of the sunshine team. Big man Lee from Sunblock led the way as our player of the game with 24 points,11 rebounds, and 2 steals!
To close off the holiday we had Playing 4 Eternity matching up against the undefeated Chinese Elite squad. This game came down to the wire with Chinese Elite retaining their unblemished record in a clutch 77-78 victory!
